While most of us know that RGB – Red / Green / Blue – you might not have heard of the CW part at the end. This is a term that describes the kind of light an LED smart bulb can emit.
This is an acronym for Cold / Warm. You’ll find it on some smart lighting products and refers to the ability to control not only the colour, but also the warmth of the white light. A cold light might be good for replicating daylight, while a softer, warmer light creates a more cosy mood.
Some smart products that use RGBCW include
- LED light strips
- Colour changing lamps
- Smart bulbs
- Outdoor smart lights
